Mobile App

Spinjoy set out to solve a simple but universal frustration: laundry isn’t hard, it’s just a relentless drain on time. Positioned inside Walmart, Spinjoy transforms a weekly chore into a seamless add-on to errands customers are already running — drop off a bag, shop, and pick up clean, folded clothes on the way out.  Their vision is rooted in helping users buy back hours otherwise lost to machines and waiting rooms. But bringing that promise to life required more than a physical footprint. It demanded a digital experience that felt as intuitive as Uber Eats and as trustworthy as your local dry cleaner. Our challenge was to design a modern, frictionless consumer app that unified their MVP features into one clear, confidence-building experience.

Outcomes

Operationally Ready MVP

We designed and delivered a launch-ready mobile experience aligned to real-world store logistics. The app was built to support a live retail environment from day one—balancing speed to market with operational clarity.

Flexible Revenue Model

By introducing both subscription and pay-as-you-go options, the product supports recurring revenue while reducing barriers to entry. The experience was intentionally designed to convert first-time users into repeat customers.

Built for Scalable Growth

The MVP was architected with expansion in mind—supporting multi-location growth, new fulfillment methods, and ecosystem integrations. Rather than designing for today alone, we created a foundation ready for iteration and scale.

Life’s Busy, Laundry Shouldn’t Be

Spinjoy was designed to fit into the rhythm of everyday life. Not disrupt it. Customers drop off their laundry at the Spinjoy counter inside Walmart, keep shopping, and track every step of the process in real time from their phone.

The moment a bag is handed over at the counter, the experience shifts from chore to service. Inside the app, every load becomes visible, trackable, and personalized. We designed the mobile experience to do more than process orders. It gives customers agency. Flexible plans meet people where they are and detailed preferences ensure each wash feels intentional. The result is a system that respects both time and trust: laundry handled by professionals, controlled by the customer, and seamlessly integrated into a day they were already living.

From Drop-Off to Drawer-Ready In Real Time

Laundry shouldn’t feel like a guessing game. We designed Spinjoy’s real-time tracking to replace uncertainty with clarity; showing customers exactly when their bag is received, washed, dried, and folded. Each status update reinforces care and transparency, turning a traditionally invisible process into one you can follow with confidence. Proactive notifications ensure you never miss a pickup, freeing customers to shop, or get on with their day, while their laundry progresses step by step in the background.

An End-to-End Seamless Experience

Spinjoy isn’t just a transactional tool, it’s a two-way system designed to connect customers, in-store teams, and the brand in one fluid loop. Customers can notify the store when they’re on their way, adjust laundry preferences at any time, manage plans with ease, and share feedback after every order, all within a few taps.

For store associates, arrival alerts create operational readiness. For customers, ratings and real-time updates reinforce accountability and care. Every interaction was intentionally designed to reduce friction and increase transparency, creating a service experience that feels coordinated, responsive, and continuously improving.

Building the Roadmap

Our mandate was clear: design an MVP ready for launch. But from day one, we approached Spinjoy as a living product, not a static release. Because the service bridges digital interactions with in-store logistics, we knew the real insights would emerge once bags started moving and customers began engaging. The roadmap was intentionally shaped to evolve post-launch, guided by real-world operations and direct user feedback. By prioritizing a strong foundation first, we positioned Spinjoy to iterate intelligently, layering in new capabilities only when validated by behavior, not assumption.

Select a Store

Launch began with a single location, intentionally focused so we could refine both physical operations and the digital experience in parallel. But the system was designed to scale. The future vision supports multiple Spinjoy locations, allowing customers to select their preferred store while clearly surfacing hours, distance, and available services. As Spinjoy expands, the app evolves from a single storefront into a networked service platform.

Curbside and Delivery

Convenience shouldn’t end at pickup. In future iterations, customers will be able to choose how they want their clean laundry returned: counter pickup, curbside, or delivery integrated with Walmart+. This flexibility transforms Spinjoy from a counter service into a fully adaptable fulfillment experience, meeting customers wherever they are.

Personalized Service

Laundry is personal and so is trust. Future tracking views introduce the Spinjoy Pro handling each order, reinforcing accountability and human connection behind every load. By putting a face to the service, we elevate the experience from transactional to relational.

Customer Photos

Operational efficiency and customer confidence often intersect in small details. Profile photos were explored as a way to streamline identification at drop-off and pickup, reducing friction at the counter while reinforcing security. It’s a subtle feature, but one that strengthens the seamless loop between digital and in-store interactions.

Next Steps

Launch is the starting line, not the finish. With Spinjoy entering the real world, the next phase centers on learning: how customers behave, where friction appears, and how in-store logistics shape digital expectations. We’ll use those insights to refine the experience through thoughtful, incremental updates, optimizing flows, strengthening clarity, and layering in the roadmap features already identified.Beyond iteration, the opportunity expands. From exploring a Rewards strategy to deeper Walmart+ ecosystem integration, there is significant room to evolve Spinjoy from a convenient service into a differentiated platform. Our role is to remain a true product partner and push the experience forward as the brand grows.

Designed to Launch. Built to Scale.

Great products don’t start fully formed, they start focused. With Spinjoy, we helped bring an MVP to market quickly while laying the groundwork for long-term growth. That meant designing for real-world operations, future feature expansion, and evolving customer behavior from day one. If you’re building something new, or rethinking something existing, we can help you move fast without painting yourself into a corner later. Launch confidently now. Scale intelligently next.
